Wish my mind It weren't so overactive And all these thoughts They could be retracted I don't know what It isn't routine But I think I'm stuck In a maze Days are quickly They are spinning by I'm searching for something Some lifeline Every day it's so uniform I'm living life In a mindless haze Chorus: I'd drop everything To fly away from here I'd drop everything Alleviate my shallow fears Self doubt flows It flows into my head And it is fueled on by All these inhibitions Problems that were They were never there And these are walls created Solely in my mind It's in mind There's more inside It's in my mind Chorus: I'd drop everything To fly away from here I'd drop everything Alleviate my shallow fears I don't think it's wise to stay It's easiest to shy away From issues that I never faced Ventures I want misplaced

There's no profit to be made I can see it in your face When you look me in the eye And you wanna state your case Something stickin in my eye As I try to realize Question every choice you make I don't wanna take the bait I don't buy into flattery I flee responsibility Don't try to sell me on your offer Chorus: I do things on my own time The more I'm pushed the more I fight Problems exist if you care The more you fret the more they bear Growing up is all a trap Formed by generation gap Follow blindly fit the mold Wanna watch Spinal Tap More a person thinks they know More they like to let it show Think they read you like a map Finished here that's a wrap I don't buy into flattery I flee responsibility Don't try to sell me on your offer Chorus: I do things on my own time The more I'm pushed the more I fight Problems exist if you care The more you fret the more they bear I don't think life is a one track affair We forge unique paths with the same common goal As we grow older we forget to share Possessions won't make you feel whole What did you say? I can't hear Warnings won't instill your fear Keep on lying to yourself Happiness you haven't felt

Stay out of my head I'm almost home free But you creep in again While I kick in my sleep Tangible moments I swear that they are When I open my eyes It's all a mirage Chorus: I grasp out at straws And I sit there reflective It seems like such loss I remember perspective It's deceptive How we grow Pick up your head son There's people who love you Your mom and your dad And someone above you Idealize the past You'll only delude yourself It's the role you've been cast And the hand you've been dealt But the role is so fluid The hand flexible And the choices we make Form our rise and our fall Now it's in your hands to change what you see Life continues to run So pick up your feet Chorus: I grasp out at straws And I sit there reflective It seems like such loss I remember perspective It's deceptive How we grow You called me up Just to let me down A part of you Still hangs around In all I do And what I say Can't take it back But I'll take the blame

Funtitled 02:49
I knew I'd never come to see The issues that were facing me How could I have known I was supposed to be the one? It all came quick and crashing down And there you were without a crown What caused you to override What couldn't be undone? Chorus: Who are you To tell me what to do? I control Each and every goal All my words were misconstrued Distorted farther from the truth How could I have missed All the different spuns? Way past second chances And far beyond subtle advances This is when I need you most And farther you will run Chorus: Who are you To tell me what to do? I control Each and every goal Now I see Through all the gaps Between your teeth Now I go Deeper into The unknown

Some things you're never told That you have to learn yourself Some lessons never mentioned In the story books we read Where everything's ideal And the characters so just Where no one is the victim Of severely misplaced trust I gave you all the reins and Stockpiled all my faith in Something that wasn't true But merely the image of you Prechorus: Naiveté fades into reason Naiveté fades when the luster dulls Into reason Chorus: You became everything You said you'd never be Where you are today Shows how far you've strayed Hesitance I always blame And reticence I always claim Just this time I let them go Now I've nothing left to show Prechorus: Naiveté fades into reason Naiveté fades when the luster dulls Into reason Chorus: You became everything You said you'd never be Where you are today Shows how far you've strayed

Slaves to technology You'll catch me far away Attention spans divided Every single other way Heads buried in the sand A loss of what to say Bradbury's prophecies Come truer everyday The TV acts like numbing cream Eyes bloodshot as they're glued to the screen Interaction face to face Lessens every year Nervous eye contact As the eyes begin to veer Dumbing down society Intelligence unclear Huxley tried to warn us But we chose not to adhere The TV acts like numbing cream Is this what we call the American dream?

about

Every so often a band creates something that truly captures their essence and allows them to nail their sonic colors to the mast. This is not that. Sorry Ghost just threw together six songs and decided to sell them. Just go ahead and buy it. All your friends are doing it, so don't be a nerd.
